Prompt: Describe something you will never fully understand.

Prompt Response: One thing I will never understand is the discrimination and disrespect that our society points towards those with intellectual and developmental disabilities. One thing others who don’t spend a lot of time with those who have special needs don’t seem to understand is that they are often some of the happiest, friendliest, and loving  people. However, one of the biggest problems within our society’s treatment toward those with special needs is how many people jump to treating disabled people as if they are inferior. On countless occasions, I have observed people who do not have special needs treat those who do as if they are babies- even if they are the same age. I will never understand how some can’t understand: those with special needs are the same as those without, and should be treated as such.

Summary: Today in class we overviewed evidence and how to use it.

Reflection: Understanding evidence will help me with my arguments. The FRQ that we answered helped me with understanding how to answer an FRQ for AP Lang and how to plan an essay quickly. This is very useful information!
